TCA CROSS is one of the treatment options in TextureAxis for depressed acne scars and uneven texture. We select areas and combine treatments according to the scar pattern and response.
How it works
TCA CROSS uses trichloroacetic acid (TCA) locally within selected depressed scars. The localized skin response and healing process encourage remodeling in the treated area.
How we use it
Within TextureAxis, we assess narrow, deep ice-pick acne scars before selecting TCA CROSS. It can be combined with laser and injectable treatments according to the surrounding texture and skin findings.
Other concerns we assess
We assess the opening and depth of each scar, surrounding unevenness, active acne and previous pigmentation changes. Recovery and response guide the next treatment and its timing.
Before your treatment
- Redness, crusting and pigmentation changes can occur; worsening with deeper scars has also been reported.
- Treatment response and recovery vary. Follow the clinic’s instructions for sun protection and skin care after treatment.
